Mary Frances de Carriere, 65, of Grants Pass died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at her home. Private interment was held at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, 31 W. Sixth St., Medford, OR 97501.She was born Nov. 29, 1944, in Oregon City to Marvin and Nadine Bates. In her youth, she enjoyed horses, and she graduated from high school in Mesa, Ariz. On June 27, 1968, in Mesa she married John P. de Carriere, who survives. She lived in Aloha for 30 years and worked as a quality control supervisor specializing in military applications at Intel and later for Chandler. She returned to Arizona and lived there until 2000 when she moved from Apache Junction to Grants Pass.She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Beacon Hill Ward and volunteered with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.Survivors include two sons, John T. de Carriere of Eugene and Jamieson de Carriere of Grants Pass; three daughters, Nicole de Carriere of Eugene, Jackie Cragmiel of Springfield, and Dana Eden de Carriere of Grants Pass; her mother, Nadine Jensen of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Cathy Bieryla of California, and Bonnie Schmidt of Washington; a brother, Stephen Bates of South Carolina; and five grandchildren
